World Book Day

I would like to thank our wonderful families for supporting the activities that were undertaken throughout the day.

The children looked  terrific in their colourful costumes.   We had well over one hundred children attend the reading cafĂ© with their parents or carers and everyone had a lovely time sharing stories together.  There was a tremendous response to all the competitions on offer during the day. We shared stories in our whole school assembly and the Big Read session at the end of the day was very well attended.     We are already looking forward to WBD 2020!

Coniston – November 2018

The children at Coniston are having a great week – they have been to a slate quarry, kayaking, sailing, low ropes, problem solving and climbing.

Pumpkins

Over the holidays the children were invited to carve a pumpkin and bring it into school where they were judged by the Chair of Governors, Mrs Susan Smith. A winner was chosen from each class and they received a Halloween related prize. There was even a category for an adult to carve a pumpkin and this was won by Sophie Murray (mum to Seb, Felicity and James.)
