Class 2H

Mrs Holliday is the class teacher.  Miss Jackson and Mrs Queen supply additional support in the classroom.

Everyone in the class enjoyed dressing up To celebrate World Book Day. We read `The Day the Crayons Quit` by Drew Daywalt and created our own box of crayons. For each coloured crayon, we wrote different sentence types to show how they felt.

Our topic this term is Africa. We have been learning about the names of the continents and oceans of the world. During our art sessions we have produced some amazing African silhouette scenes.

Our English text this half term is Lila and the Secret of Rain. The children have enjoyed making predictions, inferences and deductions about the story.

We are looking forward to going to the Lakes Wildlife Park ,near Keswick to help us learn about African animals.

Word for Word- a theatre group (Grace, Danny and Amy), came into school to work with Key Stage 1 classes. 2H enjoyed working together, using their imagination and building their confidence to tell their own group stories to the rest of the class.

We celebrated Roald Dahl Day by reading the Enormous Crocodile. As part of our English work, we worked together to create new secret plans and clever tricks for the Enormous Crocodile. We searched around the playground looking for the ideal place for him to disguise himself. Then we went back into the classroom where we sketched our ideas and wrote our plans.
