Choir takes place on a Tuesday lunchtime and this term the choir are going to be learning a repertoire of songs that they will sing to parents in a concert just before the Easter holidays.

All the children rehearse really hard and look forward to singing in front of both the school and parents.

A letter will be sent out nearer the time inviting you to this occasion.

The choir are having a busy first term back at school. Following the Year 6 leaving to go to Secondary School, the choir has welcomed 10 new members who have fitted in really well and are singing enthusiastically.

The first event that the Choir are singing at this term is on Saturday 30th September in Blackpool, when they will audition in front of the producers of Britain’s Got Talent. This is obviously a very exciting prospect for both the children and the school.

The children who were in the choir last year will also be taking part in the Singing Day at Austin Friars School on the 4th October. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to sing alongside other choirs and there will be a concert at 2.40pm on the day to showcase the songs they have been taught.

On the lead up to Christmas the choir have also been invited to sing in Sainsburys and at Holy Trinity for their annual Christmas party.

Thank you to all the parents/carers who support the choir by helping the children learn the words and bring them to events. We couldn’t do it without your support.

Autumn 2015

At the end of the Autumn Term the Junior Choir were invited to sing at a Concert in St Cuthbert’s Church with the Carlisle Community Choir. This is the second time we have sung alongside them and each Concert has been well attended by family and friends. The Choir sang a variety of Christmas songs – including their own version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and The 12 Days of Christmas. Both of these received a huge round of applause from the audience.

The Infant Singing Group and the Junior Choir have practised very hard  in order to enter the Carlisle and District Music Festival. The Infants performed two action songs: Monster Stomp and Things That Go Bump in the Night. They achieved a commended score from the adjudicator for their performances.

The Junior Choir competed against 17 other junior schools and sang Coconut Man and Revolting Children from the musical Matilda. They were awarded Joint Second and achieved a Distinction. Both choirs were overjoyed with the scores they achieved.

Autumn term 2016

The choir have got a busy term ahead and are going to be involved in singing around the local area.

On Friday 16th September the choir are taking part in a Primary Schools Singing Day at Austin Friars where they will sing a variety of songs alongside other schools. The choir attended this last year and all the children had a fantastic time and the parents enjoyed the concert at the end of the day where the children showcased their songs.

In December the choir have been invited to sing Christmas Carols at Sainsburys, Holy Trinity Church and The Methodist Church.
